Sullia: Youth from Bihar drowns in river when taking bath

Sullia, May 13: Out of a group of young people from Bihar who entered River Payasvini at Aramboor here to take bath, one drowned. The body of the youth was recovered by expert divers from Paichar on Wednesday May 12.

They were the employees of Preetham Hollow Blocks, Aramboor. On Tuesday afternoon, they went to the river to take a bath. One of them, Kundan, did not come out of the river. The fact that Kundan was not to be found came to the notice of his colleagues only by evening. They went in search of him but failed to find him.

On Wednesday morning, a team of divers from Paichar here, led by R N Basheer, was approached for help. The team took up the task, searched the river, and brought the body out of the river. Basheer was accompanied by Shariff T A , Abbas Shantinagara, Latif Bolubail, Rifayi Sonangeri, Basheer K P and others. These young men, in spite of observing Ramzan fasting, wholeheartedly participated in the rescue effort and won the hearts of the people.
