Bantwal: Implement government's restriction effectively - MLA Rajesh Naik

Bantwal, May 8: "As cases of Covid-19 are spiking, the officials should work responsibly and implement the restriction of the government effectively," said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik on Saturday May 8.

Speaking during the taluk level officials' meeting, he said, "Officials should put an end to rumours which creates panic among people. They should keep an eye on the rumour mongers. In this regard, form a special team," he said.

He also directed the tahsildar and the police department to take strict action against rumour mongers who mislead people against the officials who do good work.

"Book those who roam without any necessity. Increase beat and the high patrol policing system, he said.

He also sought officials to take action against those who oppose measures of containing the spread of Covid-19. “If officials and task force work in cooperation, the spread of the virus can be contained in rural level,” he added.

Tahsildar Rashmi SR informed that the nodal officers are supervising the private hospitals in the taluk. “All facilities have been arranged for the Covid patients in community hospitals at Bantwal and Vamadapadavu. Morarji Desai Residential School in Vogga has been transformed into a Covid care center. We are also making arrangements for a Covid care center in Kalladka. People need not panic,” she said.

“In the government hospital in Bantwal, there are 24 beds. Still, two beds are vacant. As many as 1,345 are availing treatment in their homes. There is 12 Covid care centers at different places. There is an opportunity to open Covid care centers in Vogga and Vamadapadavu,” said THO Dr Deepa Prabhu.
