Sullia: Man arrested for sexually assaulting minor

Sullia, May 8: Police have arrested a 22-year-old youth for sexually assaulting a minor in Yenekallu village, here on Saturday May 8.

The accused is identified as Arun Gowda, a resident of Mettinadka in Guthigaru. It is said that the accused had taken the victim to a lodge and sexually assaulted her in March earlier this year. The incident came to light after the girl became pregnant.

Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
