Cash payments above Rs 2 lakh allowed for patients in Covid hospitals

New Delhi, May 8 (IANS): The Centre has relaxed rules, to allow hospitals and nursing homes accept cash payments in excess of Rs 2 lakh for treatment of Covid patients from April 1 to May 31, 2021.

A notification by the Department of Revenue states that under Section 269 ST of the Income Tax Act, 1961, hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, Covid care centres or similar other medical facilities are allowed to take benefit of the provision.

The hospitals will have to obtain the PAN or Aadhaar of the patient and the payee and the relationship between the patient and the payee for this provision.

    When various State Governments have fixed the maximum cap on daily charges which ranges fro 3000 to 15000 per day and the Average number of days of hospitalization is 10 days, the total bill should never exceed 2 lakhs.... This clearly shows that Hospitals are charging higher than the prescribed amount..... Also by allowing cash payment above 2 lakhs, Usurers and private money lenders will have a free passage to push black money into system

    All Fleecing common man in the name of this PCR pandemic also when cheaper cure like ivermectin and hydrochloroquine available, which we exported to several countries but comman man being treated it or not God only knows or may be treating with Big Pharma's expensive remdesivir to give money to these Big Pharma mafia
