Udupi, May 7: Miss Diva 2020 Adline Castelino is all set to represent India in Miss Universe international pageant.
Born and brought up in Kuwait, Adline hails from Udupi. She was born in Kuwait to Alphonsus Castelino, who works at White Store and Meera Castelino, who works at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in Kuwait, at present.
She did her schooling at the Indian Central School Kuwait and at age of 15, Adline returned to India and moved to Mumbai, where she attended secondary school at St Xavier's College, Mumbai. Later, she began attending Wilson College, Mumbai, where she graduated with a degree in business administration. She is a model and works with VSP, an organization that works towards sustainable livelihood for farmers to curb farmer suicides and inequality.
In 2020, Adline was crowned Liva Miss Diva Universe 2020. The beauty queen, who will represent India in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, has made her hometown proud with her elegance, poise and spirit. The nation is now pinning hopes on her to bring back the coveted crown.
A student of St Xavier’s College, Adline always endeavored to work in the agriculture business and support farmers through her firsthand exposure in the field. Adline has begun an online fund raiser for Agricultural Equipment for Food Growing Women Farmers of India, especially in Buldhana, which is one of the major drought-prone districts in the Vidarbha region. Women-headed households face the highest risk of earning a living. This initiative aims to provide help to these groups of women food-growers.
Adline was also honoured in her home town Udyavar by St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar, and ICYM Udyavar Golden Jubilee Committee.
The 69th edition of the Miss Universe international pageant will be held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, FL on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 8:00 PM.
