Puttur, May 6: A police personnel attached to Uppinangady station carried a person injured in an accident in his vehicle and ensured that he got treatment promptly.

Kailas Chand Karwar from Rajasthan, engaged in doing granite work in Uppinangady, met with an accident when riding his motorbike towards Mani from Uppinangady at Banabettu in Biliyoor village. After a tyre of his motorbike burst, he was tossed into the roadside drain. He suffered serious injuries and was writhing in pain. But because of the fear of coronavirus-induced curfew, people were hesitant to take him to the hospital.

For Some purpose, Jagadish, a member of Uppinangady police station staff, was moving by that way in a car. He tried to transport the injured man to hospital by ambulance but did not get ambulance immediately. Therefore he set aside his work and took the injured Kailas in his car to a hospital at Puttur and helped him in getting promptly treated.

The policeman's humanitarian gesture has come in for lavish all-round praise.
