Racket of transporting oxygen cylinders to Maharashtra, Telangana detected in Kalaburagi

Bengaluru, May 5: The Kalaburagi district administration has detected a racket for illegally transporting oxygen cylinders to neighbouring Maharashtra and Telangana in Kalaburagi late last night.

According to Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh R Nirani, who had held a meeting of officials in Kalaburagi two back on the Covid situation, the Kalaburagi district administration conducted a surprise raid at the border checkpost and unearthed the racket of blackmarketing oxygen cylinders from Vijay Oxygen Industries unit in Nandur Industrial area.

Congratulating the officials for their vigilance and swift action in checking the illegal transportation of the oxygen cylinders meant to be used in the district and the State, the minister instructed that all border check-posts must be subjected to tight scrutiny.

Assistant Commissioner Ramachandra Gadade led the raid by the officials.

The minister has warned that the people involved in the racket will not be spared and asked the district administration to be vigilant.
