Mangaluru: HRS’ lady members cremate mortal remains of women

Mangaluru, May 5: It is not an easy task to work as Covid warriors during this difficult time of increasing cases of coronavirus second wave. Family members of many deceased are scared to touch the mortal remains. In the midst of this, workers of women wing of Humanitarian Relief Society (HRS) of Dakshina Kannada district are carrying out the cremation of women who have died because of Covid.

HRS women wing have cremated nine women who died in the past week. Out of them five died due to coronavirus.

The women members of HRS of DK wear PPE kits while cremating the dead bodies. The team is led by district convener of HRS Sumaiah Hamidullah. The team includes Rahmath Mansoor, Shamsad Kudroli, Shahnaz Bengare, Abida Kudroli, Saleema Panemangaluru, Ameena Karaje, Frazana Panemangaluru, Arifa Bolangadi, Zohara Bolangadi, Noorunnisa, Maryam Shahira, Hafza Krishnapura and Yasmin Krishnapura.
