Kundapur, May 4: “Purchase of essential commodities was permitted till 10 am according to the previous order by the state government. But push carts are allowed to sell vegetables between 6 am and 6 pm according to the revised orders. Items in grocery shops and APMC can be sold till 12 pm. The other guidelines of Covid protocol will continue as before. Milk can be sold according to the permission obtained by the vendors. But they are not allowed to sell any other items including bakery products during the extended period” said assistant commissioner (AC) K Raju.

Speaking to news reporters here on Tuesday, he said that corona can be controlled if one in the family buys items sufficient to last for about four days at a time. “The situation is more serious than during last time. Deaths due to the virus also are high. Therefore, self-precautions are essential from everybody. We may have to face more difficult situations otherwise. Putting lives and livelihood at stake and wandering about in the guise of buying vegetables, can have dangerous consequences. The government can arrange any number of beds. But people can be hospitalized only according to availability of oxygen. Therefore, they should be alert and remain at home. We should protect our lives,” he said.
