Kadaba: Mobile tower maintenance contractor electrocuted

Kadaba, May 4: A private mobile tower maintenance contractor was electrocuted at Nekkare near Alankaru in the taluk on the night of Sunday May 2. He has been identified as Radheshyam Nayak (40), son of the late Vasudev Nayak from Uppinangady Nattibail.

Radheshyam was entrusted with the work of maintaining mobile towers of a private company in Uppinangady - Alankaru area. On Sunday night, he had come to check the Nekkare tower. When he was working near a transformer, he suffered electric shocks. When coming there, he had had brought his daughter in his car which he parked by the roadside with his daughter inside.

Seeing sparks coming out of the tower, locals rushed and found Nayak dead. Mescom Alankaru branch manager, Premkumar, and officials visited the spot. A case was registered in Kadaba police station. It is learnt that Radheshyam, who was living in a rented house in Uppinangady, was the pillar of support for the family and he was the only breadwinner of his family. He has left behind wife, mother and four children.
