Shivamogga: I cannot understand governor holding meeting on covid situation: KSE

Daijiworld Media Network - Shivamogga (DV)

Shivamogga, Apr 20: After the government asked Governor Vajubhai R Vala to chair an all-party meeting on Tuesday April 20, the Rural Development minister K S Eshwarappa said that inviting the governor to the all-party meeting to take stock of the covid-19 situation, when there are elected representatives is really surprising.

Speaking to the media in Shivamogga, Eshwarappa said, "The governor taking part in the meeting to take stock of covid-19 situation is really surprising. When the government has elected representatives, I cannot understand why he called a meeting.

"CM inviting the opposition party leaders and others to the meeting is good. I am not saying that the governor should not call the meeting but, this has paved way for a new system.

"Maybe the governor called a meeting considering covid-19 cases spiking in the state or to alert the representatives on the covid-19 situation. Whatever prominent decision he takes, it will be good for the state."

Speaking on the question over the lockdown, Eshwarappa said, "There is no necessity of lockdown in the state. There is no doubt about this. But, everyone will be committed to the decision taken by the governor."

Why Eshwarappa is crying against Governor? After all, it was he who approached the Governor to complain against CM for interfering in his Department, while he should have either resigned or taken up the matter with the CM himself to sort out the differences or at worst approached the party high command - that is PM or HM. He didn't do that and wrote to Governor and later released the letter to the media. Now he is asking why Governor is holding all-party meeting. Strange!!

The Prime Minister only said that the Governor should get involved in the COVID mitigation situation and the governor is acting on it. What is the problem?. These politicians run now and then to the Governor to complain. Even Eshwarappa wrote a letter to Governor recently bypassing the chief minister when funds from his ministry were diverted. Why he did not complain to CM and keep quiet. Now if Governor involves he is overstepping. Foolish politicians and we are big fools who elected them
