Udupi, Apr 18: The second wave of coronavirus is getting severe in the district. The number of infections is increasing day by day. It is necessary for people to be alert in this matter. The district administration has requested the public to avoid unnecessary movements and mass gathering. They have further made wearing masks compulsory and stressed that social distancing should be maintained and sanitisers must be used.

“People from Maharashtra and Kerala are arriving in the district these days due to festivals. They will have to compulsorily produce negative Covid reports. If anybody from other states arrives without such reports, legal action will be taken against their family members who take them in,” warn the DC.

“Similarly people in large numbers are arriving in the district from Bengaluru. They have also been requested to undergo Covid tests for the safety of everyone.”

The deputy commissioner has requested the cooperation of Udupi citizens to help in containing the second wave of Covid.
