Udupi: Stringent action to be taken against illegal sand mining - SP Vishnuvardhan

Udupi, Apr 16: A meeting at Brahmavar circle police inspector’s office chaired by SP N Vishnuvardhan on Friday morning decided to take stringent action against people accused of illegal sand mining at Marathur, Konihar and Kaikara.

The meeting was held in the leadership of Mollahalli gram panchayat development officer, Bhavana, village accountant, Anil Kumar, Udupi sub-division ASP, Sadananda S Naik, Brahmavar circle inspector, Ananth Padmanabha, Kota station PSI Pushpa, Brahmavar station PSI, Gurunath Hadimani.

In the meeting, it was decided to erect joint checkposts at illegal sand mining spots at Marathur, Konikar and Kaikara. It was also decided to prevent migrant workers from constructing sheds and to take joint action in the leadership of the revenue department, police department, and the department of mining & geology to prevent illegal mining.
