Udupi: Proprietor of Novelty Jewellery cheated of Rs four lac

Udupi, Apr 16: G Jaya Acharya (61), a resident and proprietor of Novelty Jewellers, Car Street, Udupi was cheated of Rs four lac. He is in the business of readymade jewellery and the preparation of gold ornaments.

A person named Manjunath Acharya known to Jaya Acharya had taken a gold lump weighing 92.970 gram from Jaya on February 13 promising that he will get a gold Karimani chain prepared for Jaya Acharya. Manjunath Acharya has not returned since.

Jaya Acharya in his police complaint to Udupi town police station stated that the gold was worth Rs four lac. A case under registration no 66/2021 under IPC section 420 and 406 is registered at Udupi town police station in this connection.
