Bantwal, Apr 12: In a collision between a car and a scooter which took place near Kolake Perva at Sajipa on Melkar-Mudipu road on Saturday April 10, the scooterist was killed.
The scooterist, Baptist D'Mello (65) from Kolake Perva, was killed in the accident. He was returning home on Saturday night when a car, in an attempt to overtake him, hit his vehicle, the police stated.
John had suffered serious injuries in the accident. He was taken to the Thumbay Hospital and then admitted into a private hospital at Deralakatte. However, his life could not be saved in spite of the best efforts of the doctors.
A case in this regard was registered at Bantwal traffic police station.
