Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (DV)

Udupi, Apr 10: Sugunendra Theertha of Puttige Math has supported the spiritual leader and founder of the Esha Foundation Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev's Twitter campaign '#FreeTNTemples' from the government, through a Twitter post.

Puttige Swamiji has expressed that there is a need for unity not only in the Hindu community but also in the spiritual community and highlighted the need for the campaign. The government's interference in the affairs of Hindu religious centres has crossed limits and this is leading the wrong direction.

The resource of ancient temples is being looted and on the other hand resources of temples are being utilized for non-religious activities. The land belonging to the temples is being auctioned for commercial purposes. Thus, I have extended support for Jaggi Vasudev's free temple campaign in Tamil Nadu. Let this campaign bring change in Tamil Nadu.

Pariyaya Admar Math Sri Eshapriya Theertha Swamiji said that we should protect temples that are valuable to the Indian identity. He also said that for the betterment of the world we should support the campaign and we should take initiative to start such campaign in our state.

Subudendra Theertha of Raghavendra Swami Math in Manthrelaya also supported the campaign and said that the protection of temples is our duty.
