Bantwal, Apr 8: The protests by the employees of state transport corporations for various demands have continued in Bantwal also. No buses from Talapady KSRTC depot got down to the road. None of the workers attended work. Though private buses and other vehicles were put to service, people going for work in the morning and peak hours in the evening faced hardship at B C Road. Some people travelled by auto rickshaw at the rate of four people in a vehicle.

There was a rush to climb the contract carriage buses and people were seen travelling by standing on the foot board. As there were sufficient CC buses towards Puttur, Uppinangady, Vitla etc the passengers on those routes did not face much discomfort. T T tempo and Tata vehicles also have run. There were allegations that some private vehicles charged exorbitant fare. However there were service buses to Polali, Vamadapadav, Sarapady, Mudipu, Narikombu and other places.

Private vehicles were in control in the absence of KSRTC buses.
