Kasargod: Covid testing to be intensified in district – DC Dr Sajith Babu

Kasargod, April 8: It is decided to intensify Covid testing in the district. The methods for Covid prevention will be tightened. Special facilities will be arranged at bus stands and railway stations for vaccination. The decision was taken in the district level advisory committee meeting presided over by district collector (DC) Dr Sajith Babu.

The operation of sectorial magistrates will be invigorated. All will have to wear masks and use sanitizer often. People should not gather in groups.

The meeting discussed that a large number of people are infected in Trikkaripur, Cheruvathur, Nileshwar, Kanhangad, Ajanoor, Pallikere, Chemnad and Chengala. Police department has been asked to conduct inspections making sure that people observe the Covid protocol.

People who indulge in poll campaigns, activists of political parties, polling agents and others should undergo tests. Traders, public transport staff should undergo RTPC tests.

Restrictions on pulling carts have continued. People are not allowed to sit out and consume food. Only food parcels are allowed. The violators will be fined.

Students and examiners of SSLC examinations should undergo Covid tests. People above the age of 45 years should be vaccinated.

The DC has visited various offices and created awareness distributing handbills. The DC visited about ten offices in the company of mass media officer Abdul Latif Matathil, assistant mass media officer Nayana, district news office assistant editor P P Vinish and others.
