Hi-tech touch for Ramanagara Govt School, First Grade College at Rs 4.75 cr

Bengaluru, Apr 7: High-tech transformation for Ramanagara Government School and First Grade College at a cost of Rs 4.75 crore with the help of Toyota Kirloskar Company.

Deputy chief minister and higher education minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also the Ramanagara district in-charge, dedicated the newly constructed building of the Ramanagara Government School and First Grade College on Wednesday.

The Toyota Kirloskar Company had built 22 classrooms at a cost of Rs 4.28 crore in the Ramanagara Government School and First Grade College, which is of world-class standards. The building has a well-equipped laboratory, kitchen, hi-tech library with a smart classroom even for Anganwadi children. The company has donated the money out of its Corporate Social Responsibility funds.

Appreciating the initiative of the Toyota Kirloskar Company, the deputy chief minister said the state government was committed to improving all schools and colleges and is seriously going ahead in implementing the National Education Policy.

Dr Ashwath Narayan said Karnataka had the potential to become an educational hub and reservoir of skilled manpower for the entire country and emphasized the need for imparting quality education.

He urged more and more corporate companies to come forward and adopt the government schools and colleges as government alone is not able to shoulder the entire burden. With the sponsorship from corporate companies and philanthropists, the image of the government educational institutions will be transformed, he said.

The higher education minister said several private companies have come forward to join hands with the government in its 'Help Educate' campaign with Cognizant company has offered 12,000 debranded computers for the use of students of 430 government first-grade colleges. The Ramanagara government first-grade college has been provided with 40 computers.

JD(S) MLA Anitha Kumaraswamy, Magadi MLA Manjunath, MLC A Devegowda, former MLA C M Lingappa, commissioner of Collegiate Education Pradeep, Ramanagara deputy commissioner Rakesh Kumar and zilla panchayat chief executive officer Ikram and others were present.
