Puttur: Truck-mini tempo collision claims driver's life

Puttur, Apr 6: Two vehicles collided head on on Monday April 5 morning at Paravarakotya in Shiradi village, resulting in death of a man.

A truck and a mini goods tempo were involved in this accident. While the driver of one of the vehicles died, two others were injured.

Haneef (56), driver of the mini goods tempo vehicle, lost his life in the incident. The mini goods tempo was transporting beedis to Hassan from Mangaluru when it was hit by a truck carrying tender coconuts from the opposite direction. Due to the impact of the collision, the front portions of both the vehicles were badly damaged. Rafique and Raheem, who were inside the goods tempo, were injured. Both are being treated in hospital.

The deceased was a resident of Kukkaje near Mani. He is survived by wife, two sons and three daughters. Uppinangady police who have registered the case, are investigating.
