Udupi: 'Migrants, homeless without Aadhaar card should also be vaccinated' - Jilla Nagarika Samithi

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, Apr 5: The government has begun a coronavirus vaccination campaign in the country. People who want to be vaccinated should produce an Aadhaar card at the vaccination centre. However, migrant workers, destitute, beggars, rag pickers, homeless at the bus stands, railway stations, public places and orphanages usually do not hold such identity cards.

"Though they are citizens of India, they are unable to get themselves vaccinated. They are prone to the virus and are likely to spread it in society. Everybody has the right to live. Therefore, the district administration and the health department should make alternative arrangements to vaccinate them," urged Udupi Jilla Nagarika Samithi activist, Nityananda Olakadu and Taranath Mestha Shirur.
