Kundapur: Devotees throng for Kollur Mookambika temple festival

Kundapur, Apr 4: The grand car festival of the historic Kollur Mookambika temple concluded on Saturday, Apr 3. A large number of devotees arrived from the neighbouring villages to be part of the festival. Various religious rituals were performed under the leadership of Ramachandra Adiga. Two idols were carried on the decorated chariot as per customs. Priest K Sridhar Adiga, K N Govinda Adiga, N Subrahmanya Adiga, Murthi Kalidas Bhat and Srinath Trivikram Adiga were present.

The district administration had imposed restrictions on celebrations and on the number of devotees permitted to attend the festival.

Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, Kollur temple management official, sub-divisional officer K Raju, Kundapur taluk panchayat vice president, Ramkishan Hegde, executive officer, S P B Mahesh, assistant executive officer, Govinda Naik, management committee member, Dr Atulkumar Shetty, Jayananda Hobalidar, Gopalakrishna Nada, Rathna Kunder, Sandya Ramesh, Kollur temple management committee president, Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, former trustee, Vadamballi Jayaram Shetty, Narayana Shetty and Ramesh Ganiga Kollur were present. Many of the temple programmes were truncated due to Covid rules.

Strict police security was provided under the leadership of SI Nasir Hussain under guidance from Kundapur DySP Srikanth and circle inspector Santhosh Kaikini.
