Mangaluru, Mar 3: "I will give first priority to maintain law and order and respond to any kind of crime immediately," said new superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district Hrishikesh Bhagawan.

Speaking to scribes after assuming charge on Friday, April 2, Bhagawan said, "Public expects police to respond immediately for any kind of incident. In addition to quick response, if the crimes are cracked immediately and offenders are punished, the faith of the general public of police increases. I will give priority to people-friendly policing."

"Beat system is the foundation of policing. So the beat system will be energised. It is important to protect innocents and punish offenders. Support of the public is also required in maintaining law and order," said the new SP.
