Moodbidri, Apr 2: After a tipper hit a scooter on the night of Wednesday March 31 at Kesargadde near here, the scooter rider identified as Santosh (28), lost his life.
Dinesh (35), who was seated in the pillion, who sustained serious injuries, is being treated in a private hospital in Mangaluru. Both the injured and the deceased were working as coolies, and were residents of Subhas Nagar, Moodbidri.
These two, who were friends, wanted to witness a Kola programme at Beluvai on Wednesday night. It is said that when they reached Kesargadde, a tipper that was moving towards Moodbidri hit their scooter. Santosh suffered serious injuries to his head and chest. He died on the way to hospital. The tipper driver escaped with his vehicle after causing the accident.
A case about the accident has been filed at Moodbidri police station.
