Mangaluru, Mar 30: "As the corona positive cases are increasing in the district due to the second wave of the dreaded disease, permission for celebrating fairs and festivals will be given on a simple scale," said Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra.

He said that at the meeting held at Bengaluru which was chaired by the chief minister, a decision was taken not to permit any religious programmes, festivals, protests, and demonstrations etc for a period of 15 days. "In Dakshina Kannada, festivals will be allowed with maximum participation limit of 500 people. No crowds can gather, no cultural programmes can be organized, and no large scale festivals can be held," he stated.

He asked people to always maintain social distance in public places, wear masks without fail, and not to overlook any of the instructions of the administration at any cost.
