Mangaluru, Mar 29: District Congress president, Harish Kumar condemned the attack on Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar’s convoy by the supporters of Ramesh Jarkiholi at Belagavi.

Addressing the media, here, on Monday March 29, Harish Kumar said, “Despite section 376, Ramesh Jarkiholi has not been arrested and is roaming freely in public places, giving statements. The government needs to tell why any action has not been taken so far. We suspect that the SIT is under the clutches of the minister. We also urge for a probe into the case by a retired high court judge.

“When Shivakumar was scheduled to visit Belagavi, supporters of Jarkiholi claimed to welcome him. They later pelted stones at his convoy. If they have any issues, let them do it in a legal way. Bypolls are set to be in the state and the government seems to be frustrated and is getting involved in such incidents,” he said.
