Shivamogga: Woman files rape complaint against circle police inspector

Shivamogga, Mar 29: A woman, in a complaint she filed at Shivamogga police station on Saturday March 27, has alleged that police circle inspector of Sagar town station in the district, Ashok Kumar, had raped her after serving her juice mixed with intoxicants. She said that even after the incident, he continued to pester her.

Ashok Kumar was discharging duty at a taluk centre in the district when he came in contact with the complainant relating to the investigation of a case. He had obtained her telephone number then. Later, she was subjected to sexual atrocity, the woman has claimed. The woman also said in the complaint that the police officer, with the help of her obscene photos and videos, continues to blackmail and threaten her.

She said that the police officer had asked her to come to various locations and raped her there. She said that if she fails to places of the officer's choice, he had threatened to file honeytrap, blackmail, torture and brothel cases against her. "Frustrated by his harassment, I gave a complaint to the police station. He abused me with choicest words and threatened to continue harassing me sexually and to murder me," she alleged in the complaint.

The woman also has sought protection for her and her family.

A case against the circle police inspector has been registered and an investigation has been undertaken.
