Kundapur: Entrepreneur Ganesh Kini resigns as member of Kollur temple management committee

Kundapur, Mar 28: Businessman Ganesh Kini Belve who was appointed as a member of the Kollur Mookambika temple management committee has resigned from his post.

Ganesh Kini who submitted his resignation to the muzrai ministry stated that he had considered that the membership was an opportunity to serve God. "No management committee meetings have been conducted even after five months after members have been appointed. No decisions have been taken. The prestige and ego of some have caused the delay. I do not feel right to continue in such conditions. Therefore, I voluntarily submit my resignation," he stated.

Ganesh Kini was recognised in the religious, social and educational sectors in the district for his service over the last several years. He has indulged in the progress of several religious centres at Belve, Hengavalli, Haladi etc. He was active in the social activities in the vicinity.

As his decision to resign went viral on social media, his friends and well-wishers urged him to withdraw the resignation.

Nine members were appointed on October 27, 2020, to prepare a new management committee as per the decision taken in the state religious parishat meeting held in Bengaluru on October 21, 2020.

Ramachandra Adiga, Rathna R Kunder, Sandhya Ramesh, Gopalakrishna, Keradi Chandrashekar Shetty, Dr Atulkumar Shetty, Ganesh Kini, Jayananda Hobalidar and Shekar Poojary were appointed.

It was directed in the letter that the members appoint a person among them as the president and send the proceedings to the office of the commissioner of the department of Hindu religious organizations and endowment.

Neither meetings have held nor the president has been elected even after five months of appointment of members. Therefore, Kundapur sub-divisional officer has continued as the management official of the temple.
