Udupi: Malabar Vishwa Ranga awards conferred on drama artistes

Udupi, Mar 27: Malabar Gold and Diamonds Samskriti Vishwa Prathistana presented awards to drama artists here on March 27 as part of World Theatre Day.

The Malabar Vishwa Ranga awards were conferred on actors N Rajagopal Ballal, Lakshman Kumar Mallur, Shashikala Joshi Dharwad and drama artist Gangadhar Kidiyoor.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds Udupi manager, Hafiz Rehman on the occasion said that they have presented awards to five diamonds.


Gopalakrishna Nayari who presided over the programme said that once an artist always an artiste. Thousands of organizations in our country are celebrating World Theatre Day today. Every year the message of a well-known dramatist is being obtained, translated to various languages and presented, he said.

Veteran drama artiste Gopalakrishna Nayari, Girija Healthcare & Surgicals promoter, Ravindra K Shetty, Syndicate Bank retired general manager, B Anantakrishna, Malabar Gold & Diamonds Udupi manager, Hafiz Rehman, Samskriti Vishwa Prathistana honorary president, U Vishwanath Shenoy, president professor, Shankar and others were present.
