Pakistan Army Chief Gets Three Year Extension


Islamabad, Jul 23 (IANS): The Pakistan government has decided to extend the tenure of Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani by another three years.

Announcing the decision Thursday night, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said the extension of Kayani's tenure will begin from Nov 29, 2010, the Dawn News reported.

Gilani said the extension of Kayani's tenure is in the best interest of the nation.
