Udupi: K K Muhammed who backed Ram Mandir to be guest at Ramotsava

Udupi, Mar 27: 'Ramotsava - Hanuma Jayanti' festival is being celebrated at Sri Krishna Math here from April 13 to 27. K K Muhammed, an archaeologist from Kozhikode who solidly backed the theory that there was a temple dedicated to Lord Ram at the mosque site at Ayodhya, and placed his arguments thereof, as well as former minister Dr Subrahmanyam Swamy who registered case in the court seeking construction of Ram mandir at the disputed site at Ayodhya, and central minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi, who moves around in a bicycle, will be among the guests expected to participate in the celebrations.

The programmes will begin at 4 everyday beginning from April 14. Muhammed will deliver a lecture on the subject of excavation at Ayodhya, temples in Chambal valley protected by dacoits at 5 pm on April 15. His talk will be followed by an interaction. Archaeologist Dr Abhiram Tantry, will speak about environment Ramayan at 4 pm on April 17 followed by talk on family Ramayan by educationist, Dr Gururaj Karjagi. Prof K S Narayanacharya will deliver lectures on April 18, 19 and 20. Subrahmanyam Swamy will speak on April 21 evening. Several other programmes have also been lined up.

Ramson’s Art Foundation Mysuru will arrange puppet show and organize traditional painting camp. Ganjeefa Raghupati Bhat and artefacts from Odisha, Tanjore and Mysuru will be exhibited.

The invite for the festival was unveiled by Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamji of Admar Math on Friday.
