Bengaluru, Mar 26: Bharat Biotech, which is producing anti-COVID19 vaccine, Covaxin, is said to have decided to manufacture this vaccine also at Malur, Kolar district.
Bharat Biotech has its food park project spread in about a hundred acres land at Malur. The vaccine generation unit is likely to be installed here, reports say.
This information has not been confirmed by the state government's department of industries. They just said that if Bharat Biotech decides to manufacture Covaxin in Karnataka, it is welcome to do so.
The company at present has a capacity to generate 40 lac doses of the vaccine per month. If the unit comes up at Malur, its capacity is expected to go up.
