Mangaluru: Vande Mataram Gosamrakshana Samiti to hold a 'Padayatra' to Kateel

Mangaluru, Mar 25: Vande Mataram Gosamrakshana Samiti will hold a 'Padayatra' to Kateel Durga Parameshwari temple on April 4 at 7 am from Kenjar, said Prakash Shetty, president of the Samiti.

He was speaking during a press meet at Arya Samaj here on Thursday, March 25.

"We are holding this padayatra to seek justice for the 'injustice' suffered due to demolishing of the Kapila Goshala. Initially, a foundation stone will be laid for a new temporary cattle shelter in about 5.500 square feet in my 'Patta' land. Several Swamiji and a few Naga Sadhus have assured of joining during the occasion. The cattle shelter will be constructed with help of donors."

He said several people who should love towards cattle, people from Hindu society will join this protest.

Advocate Dinkar Shetty speaking during the occasion slammed the MP, MLAs and MLC for not visiting the Goshala after it was razed down.

It may be recalled that the district administration on March 4, had cleared an illegal goshala on government land at Kenjar, on the outskirts of the city with help of the police force.

According to the district administration, the land in which the goshala existed, was earmarked for the Coast Guard Training Academy.

Lokesh Ullal, Pradeep, Harish Amtady, Kumar Malemar were present at the press meet.
