Mangaluru, Mar 25: Dr Raviraj Shetty G working as associate professor and head of Agriculture and Horticulture Research Station in Ullal has been awarded as 'Scientist of the Year Award' for the year 2020.

The award was conferred by the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi based on his achievement in research, teaching, and extension in the field of Horticulture Science and Conservation of Plant Genetic Resources.

Raviraj Shetty secured his doctoral degree in horticulture from the University of Agriculture Sciences, Bengaluru in the year 2006. He has been involved in teaching research for the past 12 years, organised national conferences, training programmes, and handled research projects on the conservation of endangered medicinal plants of Western Ghats. He also participated in international and national conferences. To his credit, he has published more than 60 scientific research articles in acclaimed national and international journals, stated a press release.
