Mangaluru, Mar 25: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on March 23 observed 'Shaheed Diwas' in memory of freedom fighters Bhagath Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, here at Urwa Store Ground.

Speaking during the occasion, trustee of Disha Bharata and social activist Rajesh Padmar said several people sacrificed their lives to preserve the nationality.

He called upon the youth to continue sacrifice and service to the country.

Retired Superintendent of Police (MESCOM Vigilance) P Harichandra said that the youth should imbibe the principles of freedom fighters in their life.

ABVP Mangaluru city president Bharathi Prabhu and secretary Shreyas Shetty were present during the programme.

Prior to the stage programme, various college students and dance teams performed cultural events.

Deputy mayor Sumangala Rao, senior member Cha Na Shankar Rao, Sarswathi Rao, Raghavendra Holla, Sanjay Prabhu, Sujith Prathap, divisonal organising secretary Basavesh Kori, state co-secretary Manikanta Kalasa, divisional convener Sanjay Rai and others were present.
