Bantwal: District level protests planned by farmers at BC Road on Mar 26 call for Bharath Bandh

Bantwal, Mar 24: “Mass protests are planned at BC Road on March 26 opposing the anti-farmer farm acts that are implemented by the union government,” said Karnataka Raitha Sangha state chief secretary Ravikiran Punacha.

Speaking in a news conference at Bantwal press club on Wednesday he said that four months will be completed on March 26 for protests held by farmers in the outskirts of Delhi. “Samyukta Kisan Morcha has called for a Bharath bandh on that day. A mass district level protest meeting will be held at BC Road by the district farmers, dalits and pro-labour campaign association,” he said.

“The meeting will be held below BC Road flyover at 10 am. It is decided to block the national highway and protest. Citizens of the district should participate in the protest meeting and highway block campaign,” he requested.

He condemned the voluntary registration of the case by Shivamogga police against farmer leader Rakesh Tikayat.

Karnataka region Raitha Sangha state vice-president K Yadava Shetty, Raitha Sangha district chief secretary K Premanatha Shetty Balthila and CITU district secretary Ramanna Vitla were present.
