Beltangady, Mar 24: The decomposed body of a woman was found hanging from the branch of a tree in the forest region located in the backside of Bahubali Betta, on Tuesday March 23.

Several pilgrims who visited the spot complained of foul smell at the back of the hill. After the locals informed them, the police visited the spot and searched for the source of the odour. They found the body of a woman aged between 60 and 65 years from the branch of a tree. A case about the incident was registered in Dharmasthala police station. The woman is yet to be identified.
