Mangaluru: 195 academic achievers honoured in Fuddar Pratisttan Puraskar

Mangaluru, Mar 22: Fuddar Pratisttan Puraskar 2021 programme was held on March 21 at Milagres Jubilee hall, here, wherein 195 meritorious students of Udupi and Mangaluru diocese were honoured in SSLC, PUC, degree and Post Graduation category.

Emeritus Bishop of the diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, inaugurated the programme and addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to participate in competitive exams and provided guidance on how to face the challenges in society. J J Pinto, principal of SNM Polytechnic, Moodbidri was present as the chief guest of the function. In his keynote address he focused on public service and various scholarships available under the government scheme.

Fuddar Pratisttan president Gerald D'Costa chaired the function, Stany Lobo president of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh and Robert Menezes president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh were present as the guests of honour. During the programme, newly appointed civil judge of high court Sparsha D'Souza of Rosario Cathedral and L J Fernandes of Venur who served Fuddar Pratisttan as secretary for 15 years were honoured. Office bearers of Fuddar Pratisttan Fr Walter D'Mello, vice-president of Fudar Prathistan welcomed the gathering. Secretary Alwyn Quadras delivered the vote of thanks. Melreeda Jane Rodrigues and Vivid D'Souza compered the programme. Office bearers and trustees of Fuddar Pratisttan were present on the dias.
