Udupi, Mar 22: Udupi deanery level outdoor Way of the Cross was conducted on Sunday March 21 at St Antony Church, Kuntalnagar.

Fr Jason Pais, OFM Cap conducted the Way of the Cross. In his introductory note, he said, “The Way of the Cross is not just a journey with the Cross but it is a journey towards Jesus who died on the Cross for our salvation. We are called upon to look into our inner lives, where there is a constant struggle between God’s voice and our inner self. When we hear the voice of God and respond accordingly, we will be able to lead a righteous life.”

During each station, with the help of the Word of God, he beautifully explained how our inner selfish motives lead us away from God. Representatives from nine parishes of Udupi deanery carried the wooden cross and candles.

Prior to the Way of the Cross, confessions were arranged and the holy eucharist was celebrated. Fr Ashwin Aranha, assistant parish priest, here, helped the devotees to prepare for confessions.
