Bengaluru, Mar 20: The state government, taking serious view of the fact that students who were unable to pay the additional fee were not allowed to appear for the examination by the Royal Concorde School in the city, warned the school managements that if such incidents recur, the government will have to wield it sovereign powers. Terming as unfortunate such incidents which happened in the city and Cambridge Public School in Srirangapatna taluk, he advised schools to see that such incidents are not allowed to occur. The minister stressed that such things dent the self-confidence of the students. He apprehended that such frictions between the parents and the school managements can have an adverse impact on the minds of the students.

"The gravity of such situations can be gauged by the fact that a student in Koramangala had attempted suicide. The private schools should behave with empathy. At a time when Coronavirus has been posing new challenges, we should understand our social responsibility and function accordingly," he said.
