Udupi, Mar 19: “The federation of Karnataka temple and religious institutions should be given permission to join in the government’s inspection of the irregularities at Kollur temple,” urged the federation spokesperson Guruprasad Gowda.

Speaking at a news conference in Udupi, he said that the government’s orders for the inspection are welcome. “We had submitted a request to that effect to the minister of religious endowment, Kota Srinivas Poojary and the department commissioner. The federation should also be allowed to take part in the inspection so that the investigations may be transparent,” he said.

“It is clear that the condition of other temples under government control is similar. The temples should be privatised to reduce the irregularities in them. It is our main demand,” he said.

Federation member, Madhusoodhan Ayar, Dinesh M P, Srinivas, Chandra Mogera, coordinator Vijaya Kumar and others were present.
