Udupi: Patrakartara Vedike organise Rajesh Shibaje Award ceremony

Udupi, Mar 17: Bengaluru’s Patrakartara Vedike and its Udupi unit jointly held the Rajesh Shibaje media award event at Udupi Jagannatha Sabha auditorium last Saturday. Former state president of Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Harikrishna Punaroor inaugurated the programme.

Punaroor praised journalist Dr Shekar Ajekar for his support of talented individuals and honoured all the professional achievers regardless of their age.

Retired professor A M Narahari, Mangaluru, entrepreneur-donor, Vishwanath Shenoy, Udupi, Panchanabettu Vidyavardhaka Sangha president A Narasimha Bommarabettu, Karnataka Kayakarathna, Nagappa Basappa were the guests of honour. Social worker, Jayakar Shetty inaugurated the programme.

Satya K of Vartha Bharati newspaper, Suddhi channel’s, Durgakumar Nayarkere and cartoonist, Badari Purohit Koppala were honoured with the Rajesh Shibaje Award.

Harikrishna Punaroor honoured Dr G Shankar Government Women's First Grade College and Post-Graduate Study Centre, principal Ashok Kumar Kasargod. Beladingala Sahitya Sammelana, chief secretary, Saumyashree S A, children division’s Sunidhi and Sunija were present.

Author Iranna Kuruvathi Gouder welcomed the gathering. MGM college journalism department head Borgal Gudde Manjunath Kamath gave a congratulatory speech. Young achiever Kananjar compered the programme. Poetess Reshma Shetty Goroor rendered the vote of thanks.
