Bengaluru: GP election - Commission issues election notification for 68 panchayats

Bengaluru, Mar 9: The election commission has issued notification fixing dates for 68 gram panchayats which will complete their terms in May this year, and for 669 gram panchayat seats that have become vacant for different reasons.

The deputy commissioners will be issuing notification for these elections on March 15. March 19 will be the last day for filing of nominations while scrutiny will take place on March 20. March 22 will be the last day for withdrawal of nominations. Polling will take place on March 29. Counting of votes and announcement of results will take place on March 30. Code of conduct will be in force between march 15 and 31 in pancayats where election will take place, the commission stated.

Time table has also been announced for Saragur town panchayat in Mysuru district and Huliiyar town panchayat in Tumakuru district. The commisison also gave time table for 27 wards in different local bodies. The deputy commisisoner will issue notification on March 10, and March 17 will be the last date for filing of nominations. Scrutiny will be held on March 18 and March 20 will be the last date for the withdrawal of nominations. Code of conduct will be force from march 15 to 31. March 20 will be the last day for withdrawal of nominations and counting of votes will take place on March 30.
