Mangaluru: Car in police custody sold - Accused spoke to CID officer?


Mangaluru, Mar 5: The case relating to the sale of a luxury car belonging to an accused in financial irregularity case having been sold off when it was in the custody of the police is getting murkier by the day. It has come to light that out of the four accused, one had spoken to a criminal investigation department (CID) officer involved with the probe over phone.

In relation to the disposal of this car, inspector of narcotic drugs, Ramakrishna, city crime branch sub-inspector, Kabbalraj, head police constables, Ashith D'Souza and Raja have been suspended. One among these accused had reportedly called a CID officer over phone. This conversation has also come to the notice of the department of home and senior CID officials, it is said.

It is alleged that in October 2019, the CCB police had entered the milk dairy managed by a woman and taken away Rs 86,000 in cash found there. The woman has complained that she had filed police complaint about this incident but so far she has not got justice so far.
