Kaup: Hit by unidentified car, two-wheeler riders suffer injuries

Kaup, Mar 1: Reportedly, the rider and pillion rider of a two-wheeler were injured in a hit and run case which happened on Sunday February 28.

Rajesh (35), resident of Muratangady, Sanoor in Karkala taluk, currently residing at Uliyaru village here, said that the accident occurred at around 7 pm on Sunday. He claimed that he was moving in his vehicle to Kaup along with his friend, Akhil in the pillion, from Karkala via Shirva when the d river of a silver coloured Innova car, who was recklessly driving his car at high speed, came to extreme right when negotiating a bend, and hit his vehicle. Both the riders fell to the road.

Rajesh suffered fracture in his right foot while Akhil sustained serious injuries to his knee and right toe. Rajesh said that the driver of the Innova car fled a way without stopping or taking care of the injured, nor did he inform the police about the accident. Therefore, he has sought stern action against the culprit.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.
