Madikeri: Elephant attacks, kills man guarding coffee yard

Madikeri, Feb 27: A youth, who was guarding the coffee yard from the attack of animals and thieves at night, was attacked and killed by a wild elephant. The incident happened at Beetikadu coffee plantation near Siddapur in the district.

The deceased was Sandeep (21), son of Elumalai, residing at Anandapura near Polibetta. Sandeep was on night duty on Thursday night at the facility owned by Bombay Burma Trading Company at Beetikadu when the tragedy happened.

Siddapur police have registered a case.
