Panaji: Youth from Bihar held for kidnapping three minors

Panaji, Feb 24: A 19-year-old youth from Bihar was booked by the Bicholim police for kidnapping three minor children from Bordem, Bicholim. The victims were a 15-year-old boy and two girls aged 14 and 10.

All three victims were traced within 24 hours after a case was reported.

A resident from Bordem, who is a native of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh lodged a complaint about the missing children. The complainant named the accused Gautam Kumar Mahesh Mukhiya, who was temporarily residing at Lakherem had kidnapped his two daughters and his son on Monday evening February 22.

Following the complaint, the police immediately swung into action and after a long search the children were traced at Mapusa. The children were then handed over to the parents. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8(2) of the Goa Children's Act.
