PM Calls Meeting on Kashmir


New Delhi, Jun 30 (IANS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday called an emergency meeting to review the situation in Jammu and Kashmir where street protests have left eight people dead in five days.

A senior official in the Prime Minister's Office said the meeting will be held at 5.30 p.m. at Manmohan Singh's 7 Race Course residence.

Informed sources said Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Home Secretary G.K. Pillai and senior intelligence officials will attend the meeting.
