Panaji: GFP demands state govt to remove VAT on fuel

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Feb 14: Goa Forward Party working president Kiran Kandolkar has demanded that the BJP-led government in Goa immediately remove VAT on fuel to help the common man.

"Chief minister Pramod Sawant must follow the example of the late chief minister Manohar Parrikar who had the courage to bring VAT on fuel to zero and who stopped fuel prices from breaching the Rs 60-mark in his tenure between 2012-2014," he added.

“The government should have the basic decency to help the people of Goa and not burden them with an increase in fuel prices,” Kandolkar said.

He urged the CM to respect the public and their hardships and immediately bring VAT on petrol and diesel to zero.
