SAARC Meet Begins


Islamabad, Jun 26 (IANS): Home ministers of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) began a meeting here Saturday.

The issue of counter-terrorism will top the conference agenda along with implementation of recommendations to enhance cooperation among member countries, Geo news reported.

Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik is chairing the conference, attended by Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram and their counterparts from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives and Bhutan.

A joint declaration will be issued at the end of the conference.
